Thermal energy storage systems that use composite phase change materials (CPCM), such as paraffin wax and nonbiodegradable high-density polyethylene, are gaining attention in recent years due to the effort resolve issues. There is a need undertake research development on how prepare durable CPCMs from thermo-chemically treated biowastes, renewable resource. Raw spent coffee grounds (SCG) have been experimented previously, but more needs be conducted prepared pyrolyzed SCG-biochar (SCGB) for water tank. This investigated biodegradable CPCM made SCGB carnauba lab-scale solar heater system. The loading of 60% was chosen minimized thermal leakage PCM. characterization results revealed latent heat 88.47 J/g which found competitive compared other reported earlier. also show further potential using
